Tengo que hacer un proyecto en 16 mm este fin de semana para la escuela, una jevaa del trabajo me mostró esta vaina para que me “inspirara” y para que viera “lo que se puede hacer con la cámara”. Me desmoralizo por completo.

He estado intentnado conseguir más info del bicho y no he logrado nada. No tiene una entrada en Wikipedia (WTF… estoy seguro que hasta Tiuna el Fuerte tiene un wiki). Sólo conseguí una página que vende su DVD (solo en dolares japos) y tiene esta info:

Chamo que bueno es cuando sientes que estás en una crisis existencial porque no sabes que coño quieres hacer con tu vida y ves algo que te resuelve todos tus dilemas en 10 minutos. Lo más trágico de todo es que el corto es de 1999. Que más nos queda por hacer.

Nose si ya todo el mundo ha visto este video, porque en serio es burda de viejo. Pero lo amo demasiado. Pronto me llega el DVD y monto la versión completa.

En el marco de Babel’s Library, voy a ir montando alguno de los cortos seleccionados para la primer edicion.
Jan Svankmajer lo descubri por medio de una de las fuentes culturales mas fructiferas de Nueva York: los televisores que cuelgan en el fondo de los bares de mala muerte. Estaban rodando un dvd de  la coleccion de cortos animados de este director Checo, todas al estilo claymation que esta super de moda en los ochenta y noventa, pero con un toque mucho más sombrio y grotesco. Anote el nombre, lo busque al llegar a la casa y me odié por haber visto las piezas por primera vez sin audio, que agrega demsiado humor a todas sus obras. Acá les cuelgo una de las primeras que vi de él, y como siempre les dejo la opcion de bajarselo en Hi Quality .Avi pa que sean serios en su consumo digital.

Voy a estar organizando un festival de cortos jaladitos, todo al rededor de la idea del internet como una fuente infinita de vainas raghonnphilas. Si estan por la zona, lleguense.  Flyer por El Deluxor.

We want this to be a place that celebrates the benefits of this anarchy. We want a night to rejoice in the gifts that this infinite cesspool of digital humanity has to offer us. We want a night of popcorn and weird movies.

So come join us this Wednesday November 30th at Tishman Auditorioum for a film screening of alternative media found in the most remote corners of the internet, ranging from exquisite works of avant garde film to low brow comedies made out of found footage and tape recorders.

This is just the first selection to start thing out. Students are welcome to propose curated selections for other Babel’s Tower screenings (maybe “Experimental Animation night” or “Bollywood Avant Garde”?), and the Bricollab initiative will be there taking proposals for artistic initiatives for 2012. So come, drink, connect, make friends and enjoy trippy movies.”
